David G. Colquitt

I live in New Bern, NC, with my lovely and ever-supportive wife, Cathy. We moved to North Carolina from New Hampshire in 2021, after a lifetime of dealing with the snow and cold. I have four grown children, and two grandsons, all still in NH. We visit when we can.

Most early career was in graphic arts, then that evolved into building skills and experience design, marketing, advertising, and website development. I discovered User Centered Design around 2015 and went on a journey to become educated in the various methodologies. In 2018 I accepted a position with the US Air Force as a Product Designer.

I've always loved reading. Getting lost in a good story is one of my favorite past times. So the art of story telling has always fascinated me and I remember having a vague interest in writing a book someday. When my kids were young, I made up bedtime stories and would end with a cliff-hanger to entice them to want to get to bed the next night for the continued story. I never knew where the stories would go, they were always spontaneous imaginings. Years later, I finally assembled some newer imaginings and it became my first book. I would love to hear from anyone who reads it, while I work on my next.

My wife is a beautiful singer. I play guitar. Together we've been honing our skills and building up a set list with the goal of playing out in local establishments. For now, open mics are helping us get used to the feeling of live performance. Our style is acoustic music from past decades.
